Welcome to The Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre

It is with heavy hearts we are announcing the cancellation of our live Nutcracker performance scheduled for December 4-5, 2020 at Memorial Auditorium.

Maintaining safe and healthy environments for WFBT patrons, staff, company, cast, and crew remains the top priority behind this decision. As we have been diligent in following public health guidelines and protocols, we would be unable to allow our dancers to safely partner with each other, which would drastically change the quality of performance that our community has come to expect from WFBT.

That said, WFBT is also committed to keeping the 58-season history of ballet in our community alive, and the Board of Directors and staff are actively seeking new avenues to accomplish that for this unconventional season. We are thrilled to announce that KFDX and Fox will be televising the previously recorded 2019 performance of The Nutcracker on their local channels. We hope that everyone will tune in to watch! Dates and air times will be announced soon, so be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates.

We know the stage will remain dark through the remainder of 2020, but we are hopeful the two performances scheduled for the spring of 2021 will continue as planned. Any performance changes or announcements will be released within at least two months from the scheduled performance date.

“Dancing Through the Dark,” the theme for WFBT’s 2020-21 season, points to the company’s mission statement, as board members and staff work to find alternative and innovative ways to bring the power of dance to the Texoma Community through passion, creativity, and artistic excellence. Our dancers are still working hard every day in the studio. We know that inspiration is born through challenges. As we come together and support each other through these difficult times, we will find new ways to connect and “dance through the dark” until we can dance in the light of the stage once again.
